But she isn't the only rescue on this journey.

A while back, I was given a second chance of my own in the form of a heart transplant. The heart beating in my chest right now belonged to a donor named Max. I didn't want to just survive that procedure; I wanted to make sure Max’s legacy was one of profound, unhindered living. I wanted to explore exactly what it means to live fully and "die well."

That is why we bought the boat. That is why we named it Max. And that is why we are documenting every single mile of this journey in our upcoming docu-series, To the Max.
